Blues and jazz trio ANTrio, led by pianist Ari Nahum, plays original songs and arrangements in the intimate Dunsmore Jazz Room.
ANTrio plays the Dunsmore Jazz Room on Sunday, October 18, with the group led by Twin Cities pianist Ari Nahum. The set is built on original songs and arrangements, so it's their own writing you'll be hearing rather than a run of standards.
Musically, the trio works in a blend of blues and jazz, moving between classic and contemporary sounds within those genres. The arrangements are intricate and the improvisation is a big part of the night, with the three of them listening and responding to each other as they go. It's the kind of show that rewards paying attention to the details — the way a line develops or how the parts lock together — rather than just letting it run in the background. If you're the kind of listener who enjoys the interplay between musicians in a small room, this is exactly that.
The venue is the Dunsmore Jazz Room, an 87-seat space inside Crooners Supper Club, built around a baby grand piano and overlooking Moore Lake. It's one of the smaller rooms at Crooners, which also programs live music, comedy, and theater across its Main Stage Showroom, the outdoor Belvedere tent, and Maggie's Piano Lounge, alongside four-star food and drinks.
