A holiday musical with actors playing the Peanuts characters, big-screen animations and Vince Guaraldi's score played live by the Minnesota Orchestra.
A Charlie Brown Christmas comes to Orchestra Hall on December 8, with a second performance on December 9. It's the Minnesota Orchestra bringing the Peanuts gang to life on stage, and it's a family-friendly holiday show that blends cinema and live music.
Here's how it works: actors play Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, Sally and Schroeder, and they perform alongside big-screen animations. While they're acting it out, the Minnesota Orchestra plays Vince Guaraldi's timeless score live. The whole thing runs about 75 minutes with no intermission, so it's a single stretch of music and animation without a break in the middle. The production is billed as a family-friendly holiday experience, and it's held at Orchestra Hall, one of the region's premier performing-arts venues.
Behind the podium is Jason Seber, known for an inviting, eclectic approach across genres. He's leading the Minnesota Orchestra, which is now in its second century—a Grammy Award-winning ensemble in its 124th year of music-making. The orchestra has had Thomas Søndergård as music director since September 2025.

If you're planning to go, keep in mind that doors open 90 minutes before the performance, so you've got plenty of time to get settled before the music starts. The show runs on December 8 and 9 at Orchestra Hall, 1111 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403.
