Argentine Tango King and Strictly Come Dancing legend Vincent Simone returns to the stage with Tango Passions, a brand new show staged alongside world-class Argentine Tango specialists.
Vincent Simone is back on stage at The Lowry on Monday 22 February 2027 with Tango Passions, a brand new show he's putting on alongside world-class Argentine Tango specialists. If you know him from Strictly Come Dancing, you'll recognise the name; he's billed as the 'Argentine Tango King', and this is a return to the dance floor with a fresh production.
It's not a solo turn, though. Simone is sharing the stage with Argentine Tango specialists, so you'll see him working with dancers who live and breathe the form. The show is built around that specific style — Argentine Tango, rather than the ballroom version most of us associate with the telly — and it's a new piece of work, not a revival of something he's done before.
The venue is The Lowry on Salford Quays, which houses three theatres: the Lyric, the largest stage in England outside London; the more intimate Quays; and a third. Tango Passions is in the Quays, so it'll be a closer, more contained setting than the Lyric. The building also has galleries showing work by LS Lowry and other artists from local, national and international renown, with free entry to the galleries. There's a waterside restaurant and bar, Pier Eight, overlooking the Manchester Ship Canal, and the whole place is set up for families, with bright orange staircases, sloping blue floors, baby-changing facilities and a shop.
