The Shamrocks bring their debut UK tour of traditional Irish music to The Bridgewater Hall, pairing classics with original compositions.
The Shamrocks are playing The Bridgewater Hall on Friday 23 October, part of their debut UK tour. They're a five-piece harmony and multi-instrumental group from Northern Ireland, and this is their first time bringing the show over here.
They describe the night as a reimagining of the Irish songbook, and the set list makes that clear. They'll be playing the classics most of us know by heart — Danny Boy, Wild Rover and Whiskey In The Jar — but they're pairing them with their own original songs and compositions. So you'll get the songs you expect alongside the new material they've written themselves.
It's a fair bit of ground they've covered before landing in Manchester. They've played audiences all over the world, from the Sydney Opera House to the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and they've performed in more than 30 countries. There's also an Emmy Award in the bag, and their videos have picked up over 100 million views. They're bringing that Belfast charm to the UK on this first tour, so this is one of the first chances to catch them on this side of the water.
