A sip and paint session celebrating Black History Month with live music and Black-owned pop-ups, suitable for all ages.
Cultureville and Black Creative Trailblazers are hosting a sip and paint session at The Social, Aviva Studios on Friday 16 October, from 6pm for three hours. It's held in celebration of Black History Month, and the idea is to create artwork inspired by the connections, traditions, communities and shared experiences that bring people together, set against a backdrop of live music.
It's as much a social hub as a studio: you can browse and shop from Black-owned pop-ups while you paint, and everyone takes home their finished piece to gift to someone special in their community. On the music side, there are live performances by the duo Miah and Allandah and Kenyan singer Macharia.
All art materials are provided, and the session is suitable for all ages, with under-14s attending with an adult. A contribution is requested to cover rising material costs and to support the artists and facilitators, with free tickets available for those who need them. All-access tickets must be bought directly from Factory International.
