Mancunian keyboard duo Jonathan and Tom Scott perform a programme of classical and popular arrangements at The Bridgewater Hall.
Scott Brothers Duo play The Bridgewater Hall on Monday 26 October, as part of the Manchester Midday Music series. It's a lunchtime concert, so it's one of those you can slip into during a break and be out by half two.
On stage are Jonathan Scott on organ and Tom Scott on piano. They're Mancunian brothers who both studied at Chetham's School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music here in the city, so this is a home-town return for them. They work across the whole keyboard spectrum, and the set they've put together for this one is a broad sweep of classical names. They'll be playing Rossini's Overture to The Italian Girl in Algiers, Handel's Andante from Organ Concerto Op. 4, No. 1 in G, Strauss II's Kaiser-Walzer Op. 437, Falla's Ritual Fire Dance, Rachmaninoff's Adagio Sostenuto from Piano Concerto No. 2 Op. 18 and Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries — all arranged by the brothers themselves.
They've built a busy international schedule, playing across the UK and at major festivals and concert halls in Spain, France, Germany, Norway, Finland, Romania, Sweden, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea. Their online performance videos have topped 100 million views, and they've been playing regular online concerts since March 2020, reaching a worldwide audience of over 7 million. Jonathan Scott (b.1981) also writes his own compositions, like Timepiece.
