Make & Create: Crochet

Make & Create: Crochet is at The Social, Aviva Studios on Tuesday 5 January, the latest in a series of evening workshops that bring together crafts and cocktails. This one is a beginner's session, so you don't need to have ever touched a crochet hook before to join in.

The whole thing is curated and facilitated by The Creative Tangent, and the project for the night is a crochet scrunchie. You'll make your own from start to finish, and you'll leave with the basics of the craft under your belt, so you can keep going on your own when you get home. It's a good way to pick up a new skill without having to figure it out from a YouTube tutorial in your living room.

That's the core of the Make & Create series: industry professionals leading the sessions, and the setting is The Social, which is designed for this kind of thing. The idea is that crafts meet cocktails, so you can grab a drink while you work. It's meant to be a relaxed, social atmosphere rather than a formal class, and you're encouraged to put your own personal style into whatever you make. The session is for over-18s only, which fits the cocktails side of the evening.
