Arnold & Komarov Travelling Theatre present a multi-year performative project on the relationship between love and labour, with live portraiture by CickinDunt.
Arnold & Komarov Travelling Theatre bring LOVEwork to The Lowry in Salford on 6 and 7 November, two nights of a multi-year performative project that looks at the relationship between love and labour. It's a piece built from stories collected across Switzerland, England, Pakistan and the Netherlands, weaving anonymous testimonies into a polyphonic landscape where the intimate becomes collective. They describe it as a 'Biography Of Many', gathering fragments of memory to trace that fragile line between the two.
On stage, the performance is framed by an ever-shifting architecture of cardboard boxes—remnants of our consumer society—and the show itself is in constant transformation. Alongside the performance, CickinDunt draws live portraits of the audience, turning the theatre into a temporary gallery as the night goes on. It's a tender, humorous and at times unsettling piece that holds contradictions side by side: purpose and exhaustion, care and survival, desire and duty.

The whole thing is designed as a communal space, and the central question—how and why we work and love—is something the audience shares and reimagines together. It's a project that's been years in the making, drawing on those voices from four different countries to build its foundation. It runs over two nights, 6 and 7 November, at The Lowry in Salford.
