Legendary singer Leo Sayer returns to the UK for his final full tour, bringing a high-energy evening of hits to The Bridgewater Hall.
Leo Sayer plays The Bridgewater Hall on Friday 6 November, part of what he's calling his final full UK tour. He's been on the road for almost 60 years, and while he's cutting back on the number of live shows, he's quick to say he isn't retiring. The Sydney-born singer is performing with his band, and the set is a high-energy evening that draws from a career spanning several decades.
If you're familiar with his work, you'll recognise songs like 'Thunder In My Heart', 'Moonlighting', 'One Man Band', 'I Can't Stop Loving You', 'When I Need You' and 'You Make Me Feel Like Dancing'. Those are the ones that have made him a known name worldwide, and they're the kind of songs he'll be leaning on for a night like this. It's a full-band show, so it's a proper gig rather than a stripped-back affair.
There's a bit more to him these days than just the live dates. He's written an autobiography, Just A Boy, and put together a career-spanning CD box set, so if you've got a gap in your bookshelf or your record collection, those are there to dive into. He also runs his own site, leosayer.com, where he answers fans' questions at least once a month. He's described his current state of mind simply: he says he's enjoying life and career as never before.
