Festive Live: Akiko Saxophone Quartet

Akiko Saxophone Quartet play The Social at Aviva Studios on Thursday 10 December, from 5.45pm to 6.45pm. It's a free performance, though you'll need to book your place through Factory International in advance. The set runs for about an hour, and it's part of the Festive Live programme, which brings together local choirs, bands and workshops at Aviva Studios over the Christmas period.

Akiko are an award-winning saxophone quartet based here in Manchester. They formed in 2021 and have spent the years since playing concerts and recitals across the UK, including opening Lake District Music's Spring Concert Series and appearing as spotlight artists at the Lancashire Music Society and Huddersfield Saxophone Day. They've picked up two prizes along the way: the Fewkes Wind Chamber Music Prize in March 2023 and the June Emerson Launchpad Prize later that year.

Because it's part of the Festive Live line-up, this is one of several local acts taking the stage at Aviva Studios during the season. The performance is suitable for all ages, with under-14s needing to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. It runs from 5.45pm to 6.45pm on 10 December at The Social, inside Aviva Studios in St John's, Manchester, M3 4JQ. Entry is free, but you do need to pre-book through Factory International.
