Jazz titans Ezra Collective bring their Here Because of Hope tour to The Warehouse, celebrating their new album with support from Pa Salieu.
Ezra Collective bring their Here Because of Hope tour to The Warehouse, Aviva Studios on Friday 12 March, with a second date on Saturday 13 March. Both nights start at 7pm, and Pa Salieu opens for them.
The set is built around the new album, Here Because of Hope, which the band have worked out as a body of work split into three spiritual and geographical movements. It traces the movement of Black people across continents and decades, from the music of Africa to the rhythms of the Caribbean and on to the streets of London. That global reach comes through in the collaborations too, with Pa Salieu, Lila Iké and Leona Lewis all featuring on the record.
Ezra Collective formed in the youth clubs of London, and the five members — Femi Koleoso, TJ Koleoso, Joe Armon-Jones, James Mollison and Ife Ogunjobi — have spent more than a decade making jazz joyful, urgent and undeniable. They've picked up a Mercury Prize and a BRIT Award along the way, and this tour is the first time they're taking the new material on the road.
