A concert by the legendary Persian singer Ebi, known as the Voice of a Nation, performing at The Bridgewater Hall.
Ebi plays The Bridgewater Hall on Saturday 31 October, his only Manchester date of the year. He's a Persian icon with a following of millions across the world, and for one night the hall on Lower Mosley Street becomes his home in the city.
His music carries the weight of history and the warmth of home, with songs like 'Gheseye Eshgh', 'Kolbeh', 'Shabzadeh', 'Setarehaye Sorbi', 'Khalij' and 'Nazi Naz Kon' having shaped generations. He's known for a commanding stage presence, rich vocals and a heartfelt delivery, and those songs are the ones he'll be drawing from for the set.
He's billed as 'the Voice of a Nation', and that's a fair way to put it — his work reaches far beyond any one border. The songs listed are the ones that have stuck with people over the years, and they'll be the core of the evening.
