Salsa DJ and producer Gia Fu plays an extended set at Dahlia Stereo, part of the Manchester Wire sessions.
Gia Fu plays an extended set at Dahlia Stereo on Thursday 15 October, his Manchester debut. It's part of the Dahlia Stereo sessions, the club night promoted by Manchester Wire.
Fu is a DJ, producer and cultural researcher from Hong Kong, and this is the first time he's played in the city. The night is built around heavy Latin rhythms, so expect a set that leans into the dancefloor side of things rather than a laid-back listen. He's taking the booth for an extended run, which gives him plenty of room to work through a long sequence of tracks without having to rush the build.
It's not just about the music, either. The session is paired with fire-led dining, so you can eat and drink while the set runs. It's one of those nights where you can come for the food and stay for the dancing, or vice versa, rather than having to choose between a meal and a night out. The whole thing sits under the Dahlia Stereo sessions banner, which Manchester Wire has been running as a series of club nights.
