One of the UK's top gospel choirs returns to Aviva Studios for Black History Month, bringing its rich and joyful sound to The Social.
AMC Gospel Choir are back at The Social, Aviva Studios on Sunday 18 October, returning to the venue for Black History Month. They're one of the UK's top live-performance gospel choirs, based across Manchester and Birmingham, and they've played around the city regularly.
Their sound is built on a full choir, with inspiring solos and musical arrangements shaped by the director and the choir members themselves. They're known for a vibrancy and power that they describe as 'tingling the body and warming the heart' — a good way of putting it, really, because it's the kind of thing that's meant to be heard live rather than through a speaker. They've appeared on the BBC's Songs of Praise and tour as part of Hacienda Classical, so they're used to playing for big, mixed crowds.

The performance is suitable for all ages, with under-14s attending with an adult aged 18 or over, so it works as a family thing as much as a solo trip. It runs for one hour, starting at 1pm, and tickets are free, though you'll need to pre-book through Factory International. The Social is in Aviva Studios at St John's, M3 4JQ.
