Weekly over-18s Thursday night of hip-hop, R&B, afrobeats, bashment, grime and future sounds at Basing House in Shoreditch.
Your Mum's House is on every Thursday at Basing House in Shoreditch, with the next one this Thursday 22 October. It's a club night that runs from 10:00pm to 2:00am, doors open at 10:00pm, so you've got a full night in front of you if you're heading in early.
The whole thing is the brainchild of DJ and producer 70.4k, who spent eight years running Thursdays at XOYO before finding a new home here in Shoreditch. The night sticks to a strict 'bangers only' music policy that pulls from hip-hop, R&B, afrobeats, bashment, grime and future sounds, so it's less about one specific genre and more about the energy of the tracks. It's the kind of night where the focus is on the dancefloor rather than the DJ booth.
There are a few house rules to keep in mind before you head out. Entry is restricted to over-18s, and the dress code leans towards the casual: no formalwear, no single entry, and no ID no entry. Last entry is at midnight, so if you're running late, make sure you're through the doors by then. There's also no filming or photography on the night, which keeps the focus on the room rather than the screens.
