Free drop-in session for parents and carers up to 25 years old and their children at the Muswell Hill Family Hub.
Muswell Hill Family Hub is running a young parents drop-in this Monday 19 October, from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. It's one of three sessions this autumn, with the others on 21 September and 23 November, so if you can't make this one, there are two more to choose from. The hub is also known as Best Start Family Hub, and it's a Haringey Council children's centre over in Hillfield Park, London N10 3QJ.
The drop-ins are for parents and carers up to 25 years old, including expectant parents, attending with their children. It's a space to come along with your little ones and meet other young parents in the area, and since it's a drop-in, you just turn up when you can rather than booking a slot.
It's worth knowing what else the hub does, because it's more than just these sessions. It's part of the council's wider Best Start Family Hubs network, and it runs a range of family activities alongside the drop-ins. One of them is a Citizens Advice Bureau that offers free, confidential financial advice on benefits, housing, debt and employment — the kind of things that can be a real headache when you're starting out as a parent. There's also a sensory play session for babies under nine months, so if you've got a very young one, that's another thing to keep in mind.
