21+ night of R&B and dancehall with live music, plus hip-hop, Amapiano and Afro, presented by UNSPOKEN.
UNSPOKEN lands at House of Ora on Friday 30 October for a night built around R&B and dancehall. It's a 21+ event, and the organisers describe it as a night for singing, dancing and stylish vibes, with a capacity of 400. The music is the main draw here: R&B and dancehall sit at the heart of it, with hip-hop, amapiano, afro and more woven in throughout. They put it as a night built around the songs you know and the riddims you feel, so it's as much about singing along as it is about dancing.
On the decks are MixMasters, Keshia G and DJ Spade, who'll be taking turns across the night. The R&B and dancehall are the core, but with hip-hop, amapiano and afro mixed in, the sound moves across a fair few styles rather than sticking to one. It's a 21+ night, and the 400-capacity room means it's a decent-sized crowd without feeling like a massive warehouse.
There's one more detail to keep in mind: everyone gets a Black Ticket handed out at the door, which brings surprises throughout the night. It's a small thing that adds a bit of something extra to the evening, and it's something you'll want to hold onto as the night goes on.
