Return of the London rock and roll band Twenty Flight Rockers, fronted by Gary Twinn, to the 100 Club for an over-18s night.
Twenty Flight Rockers are back at The 100 Club on Friday 30 October, their first UK show in 39 years. The night is presented by The Pad Presents, and the band is billed as 'The Magnificent Twenty Flight Rockers', who emerged from the burning embers of The Clash.
They formed in London in 1983, fronted by Gary Twinn, the former singer and frontman of the Australian band Supernaut, with drummer Mark Laff from the punk group Generation X. They later recruited lead guitarist Ian McKean and bassist Jeff D. Vine, and that's the line-up you'll see on stage: Twinn, Laff, McKean and Vine. The name comes from Eddie Cochran's 'Twenty Flight Rock', and they took their cues from 1950s rock and roll artists like Cochran, Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent, Vince Taylor and Johnny Kidd. They adopted a UK rocker style and made blistering modern rock and roll with a post-punk attitude.
