Monthly live storytelling night of true, funny and confessional stories told by writers, comedians and storytellers in a 16+ room.
The Twist is back at Corner Corner on Friday 13 November, another one of their monthly storytelling nights in London. It's a live storytelling club founded by the team behind the award-winning stand-up club Comedy Bandits, and the format is pretty straightforward: a few people take to the stage and tell real stories from their own lives. They describe the nights as bringing together storytellers, writers, comedians and people from all walks of life, so the voices on any given bill can be quite a mix.
The stories themselves are 100% true, and they run across a fair bit of ground — funny, confessional, emotional or uplifting, and usually told in first person. Because the stories are lived rather than written as fiction, the night tends to pull from a lot of different places, and the mood can shift from a laugh to something a bit more quiet in the space of a few sets. It's an intimate setup, with the audience gathered around to share, listen and laugh together, and the organisers talk about it as a way of fostering creativity and community through real-life connection.

It's a 16+ venue, so it's not one for the very young, but it's open to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. The night runs from 7:30pm to 10:00pm, with doors opening at 7:00pm, and tickets are £13.63. You'll find Corner Corner on Maritime Street in Canada Water, SE16 7LL.
