Halloween party inspired by Dante's Inferno with a nine-course tasting menu by Viktor Yordanov, two live performances and DJ sets.
The Mandrake is taking a dive into Dante's Inferno for Halloween this year. On Saturday 31 October, the Fitzrovia hotel transforms into The Nine Circles of Hell, an immersive reimagining of the Divine Comedy that runs from 8:30pm until 3am. It's a full-night affair, so you'll want to clear your Sunday morning.
The night is built around a nine-course tasting menu from Head Chef Viktor Yordanov of YOPO Zaytoun, with two live performances woven in. Once the food is done, the party takes over with DJ sets from Oceanvs Orientalis headlining, alongside Jacob Groening, Hen Yanni, Cameron Jack and Nikolina. If you're coming for the music, that's where the bulk of the night sits.
It's worth knowing the venue. The Mandrake opened in 2017 as a 33-room boutique hotel founded by entrepreneur and art collector Rami Fustok, and it's become a bit of a hub for artists, performances and exhibitions. The surrealist decor gives the rooms an otherworldly feel year-round, and the food and drink comes from YOPO Zaytoun, Jurema Terrace and the ethnobotanical cocktail bar Waeska. There's also DAMU, a wellness area with mud caves, healing rituals and The Origin Pool — billed as the world's first multi-sensory, zero-gravity wellness experience — and COOC, a private members' space focused on cultural programming. This is now a fixture of the city's Halloween calendar, following previous parties themed around Samhain and a Haunted Baroque Manor, with DJ sets from the likes of Deer Jade, Madmotormiquel and Alma Linda.
