Weekly Sunday night of improv stand-up by The Comedy Store Players at The Comedy Store, with no two shows the same.
The Comedy Store Players are at The Comedy Store on Sunday 8 November, part of their regular Sunday-night improv slot. It's the club's improv night, and they bill it as a night where no two performances are ever the same and the only limit is your imagination. The show starts at 7:30pm, with doors, the bar and the diner open from 5:30pm.
It's a weekly fixture, running every Sunday at 7:30pm, and sits alongside the club's other regular programming: world-class stand-up every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. The venue describes itself as the finest comedy club in the land, and the Players are the improv side of that, taking over the room when the stand-up sets wind down for the week. If you've never seen them, the whole thing is built on the fly, so what happens on stage depends as much on the room as it does on the performers.
There's a diner-style menu of tacos, basket chicken, burgers and sandwiches, and the bar runs a happy hour from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, which lines up with the start of the show. If you're planning to eat and drink before you settle in, arriving early makes sense: doors, the bar and the diner are all open from 5:30pm, and the happy hour runs right up until the 7:30pm start. It's an over-18s night, so no under-18s are admitted.
