Weekly Sunday roast with whole cuts cooked over a fire, roasted or braised and served sharing-style at Hausu in Peckham.
Hausu does a Sunday roast every week at 11a Station Way, right by Peckham Rye Station in SE15. It's a Peckham favourite that turns two this autumn, and the roast is part of that anniversary: whole cuts cooked over fire, roasted or braised, and served sharing-style. The menu changes weekly depending on what the suppliers bring in, and it tends to lean towards the less obvious cuts rather than the usual suspects. Head chef and co-founder Holly Middleton-Joseph runs the kitchen.
Non-meat eaters are looked after too, with a mushroom ragu with lentils, porcini mash and truffle cheese. The roast potatoes are Empress potatoes finished with the restaurant's own potato dust. The ground-floor dining room was recently refurbished under the direction of artist Eva Gold, with walnut counters and tabletops and a lighter, more open layout.

Beyond the food, the venue leans on a vintage hi-fidelity sound system and has expanded its cultural offering with a new music programme led by DJ and producer Jay Duncan, plus monthly film screenings in the upstairs bar. It's a spot that works as much for a long Sunday lunch as it does for a drink and a record later on. You'll find it at 11a Station Way, Peckham, right at Peckham Rye Station, SE15 4RX, running every Sunday.
