Weekly Sunday lunch at Ekstedt at the Yard, with wood-fired dishes and seasonal British ingredients paired with wine.
Ekstedt at the Yard is running Sunday by Fire every Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30pm, a reimagining of the traditional Sunday lunch that puts wood-fired cooking at the centre. The restaurant is the flagship of the Great Scotland Yard Hotel, part of the Unbound Collection by Hyatt, and it brings Michelin-starred chef Niklas Ekstedt's signature style to the UK.
The menu celebrates seasonal British produce, with dishes running from wood pigeon to monkfish. The kitchen works with open flame, smoke, curing, fermentation and preservation to elevate those ingredients, so the wood-fire isn't just for show — it's how the food is actually made. The meal is rounded off with wine pairings that echo the seasonal flavours of the dishes.
Ekstedt's approach is built on ancient techniques, and the open flame is the main tool throughout. The focus is on seasonal British produce, and the Sunday lunch is designed as a celebratory take on the classic roast. It's a good spot if you're after a long, slow Sunday meal in the heart of the city.
