Night of stand-up comedians and experts exploring big ideas through comedy, headlined by Alex Farrow.
Stand-Up Philosophy returns to The Bill Murray on Sunday 25 October, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. It's a night of stand-up comedians and experts exploring big ideas through comedy, presented by Angel Comedy. The whole thing started as a philosophy-themed solo show by Alex Farrow, which sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019, 2021 and 2022, and has since become a regular fixture at The Bill Murray.
Farrow has been writing and performing comedy for over a decade, mixing stand-up with philosophy and science-themed material. He also hosts the award-winning Jericho Comedy in Oxford, which is regularly voted one of the country's top comedy nights. His writing has appeared on Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You, as well as in The Times, and he's featured on BBC Radio 4's The Circuit and BBC Sounds. Over the years he's raised a lifetime total of £225,000 for Oxfordshire Mind.

While Farrow is the constant, the night brings in a rotating cast of guests. Recent ones have included Ahir Shah, Olga Koch, Chelsea Birkby, Chloe Petts and Sara Barron, so the line-up changes from one show to the next. It's an 18+ night, and the doors open at 3:30pm, half an hour before the 4:00pm start. Tickets are £7.65 plus an 85p booking fee, and the venue is The Bill Murray, 39 Queen's Head Street, N1 8NQ.
