Over-18s Shrek-themed rave at Troxy with underground dance music, a live stage show, Shrek characters, karaoke, dance battles and themed cocktails.
Shrek Rave takes over Troxy on Saturday 14 November, turning the East London venue into a full-scale party around the ogre himself. It's a Shrek-themed rave that mixes underground dance music with a live stage show, so it's as much about what's happening on the floor as what's coming from the speakers.
On the music side, DJs run through Techno, House, EDM, and Drum & Bass, with Shrek remixes thrown in. Throughout the night, Shrek characters and live moments pop up, alongside performances, games and festival-level production. There are a few specific things to look out for: numbers by Shrek's performers, a Far Far Away Idol karaoke competition, onion eating contests and dance battles, plus Shrek-themed cocktails at the bar.
If you're thinking about what to wear, the dress code leans green or full Shrek character, and there's a Best Dressed prize for whoever commits hardest. The organisers do make one thing clear: the event isn't affiliated with or endorsed by DreamWorks.
