A conversation hosted by Lemara Lindsay-Prince with authors Tomasz Jedrowski, Caleb Azumah Nelson and Cenac Rollins about writing masculinity and tenderness, part of the London Literature Festival.
Tomasz Jedrowski, Caleb Azumah Nelson and Cenac Rollins are coming together at Queen Elizabeth Hall on Saturday 31 October for a conversation about writing masculinity and tenderness. It's hosted by Lemara Lindsay-Prince, who'll lead the discussion with the three writers on the stage.
Each of them has found their own way of writing male interiority — the parts of masculinity that rarely make it onto the page — and the night asks what tenderness looks like when written by men, about men. The conversation explores how literature can make possible what other forms cannot. Jedrowski is known for Swimming in the Dark; Nelson for Open Water and Small Worlds; and Rollins for Now Burns Blue. It's a chance to hear them talk through their work and the common thread that ties it together.
The session is part of the 19th edition of the London Literature Festival, the capital's longest-running literature and spoken word festival. This year it's curated by Grammy and Brit Award winner Dua Lipa alongside her Service95 Book Club, the literary arm of her record label. Lipa started the club as a space for all things literary, and it's where she shares her hand-picked Monthly Reads and her exclusive author interviews.
