Relaxed, quiet gallery session for visitors with sensory needs to see 'Light and Magic', the Tate Modern exhibition on pictorialism.
Tate Modern is running Light and Magic as a Relaxed Hours session on Tuesday 17 November, from 10.00 to 11.00. These are the gallery's quieter-time slots, open to anyone disabled or neurodivergent and to visitors with sensory needs who prefer a more relaxed experience, along with their families, friends and carers. The room is held with limited numbers, and the morning provides an Access Station, ear defenders and a quiet breakout space.
The session opens up Light and Magic, the first major exhibition to explore pictorialism as a global movement. It brings together over 200 rare prints by more than 80 artists from Seoul to Sydney, New York to Cape Town and Brazil to Singapore, tracing how pictorialism developed across the world from the 1880s to the 1960s. You'll see never-before-seen works alongside pieces from Tate's own Collection.
The exhibition is housed in the Eyal Ofer Galleries on Level 3 of the Natalie Bell Building, inside the former Bankside Power Station. Beyond the prints, there's seasonal dining on site and a smartphone audio guide led by curators and artists to follow as you go through.
