Raye brings her album 'This Music May Contain Hope' to the Royal Albert Hall in a one-night-only symphonic show with The Heritage Orchestra and The Flames Collective choir.
RAYE plays the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 23 October, a one-night-only symphonic reimagining of her album This Music May Contain Hope. She's not doing it alone: the Heritage Orchestra and the Flames Collective choir join her on stage, so the songs get a full orchestral and choral treatment rather than the electro-RnB production they started with. It's a single date, not a tour, so this is the only time she's doing this particular version of the record.
This Music May Contain Hope was her first UK number one, and it gave us 'Where Is My Husband!', which has spent over 30 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and passed 1.5 billion streams. That's the song most people will recognise, but the night is built around the album as a whole, so you'll hear the rest of the record worked over by the orchestra and choir.
For a bit of context, RAYE is a London-based electro-RnB artist and a Brit School student who's been charting since her 2014 debut. She's put out 21 Top 40 UK singles and amassed more than 10 billion Spotify streams, and she's been nominated for four GRAMMYs. Her collaborations reach across a fair bit of the current pop landscape: Charli XCX co-wrote her single 'I, U, Us', and in return RAYE worked on Charli's 'After The Afterparty'. She also provided guest vocals on Nas's 'War'.
