Adults-only evening session at the Science Museum's Power Up arcade with 18+ games not available during daytime visits.
Power Up is back at the Science Museum for its adults-only evening sessions, with the next one running on Thursday 10 December. If you haven't come across it yet, Power Up is the museum's arcade: 160 consoles, hundreds of iconic games and 50 years of gaming history under one roof. It stretches from pixel-perfect classics like Pong and Pac-Man right through to modern hits like Minecraft and Halo, so there's a fair bit to get stuck into whether you grew up with a joystick or a controller.
The evening session is a different beast from the daytime. It's adults-only, with no children admitted, which means they open up the 18+ games that aren't available during the day. It's a good excuse to spend a few hours playing through the titles you might have missed when the museum was full of school trips. And since it's an arcade, you can move from one machine to the next rather than sticking to a single screen all night.
Your ticket doesn't just cover the arcade, either. It includes entry to the museum's Space gallery, so you can wander through that before or after your session. It's a nice way to stretch your legs between rounds. Just keep in mind that booking is required, so you'll need to sort your spot in advance rather than turning up on the night.
