Nu-jazz, alternative and art-pop night with singer-songwriter and pianist Phoebe Rea and support from Jem Wax, presented by Success Express at the EFG London Jazz Festival.
Phoebe Rea plays Piano Smithfield on Friday 13 November, as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. She'll be joined by Jem Wax, who opens the night.
Rea is a singer-songwriter and pianist who works across nu-jazz, alternative and art-pop. The sound comes from a classical background — she studied piano and violin at the BRIT School and later took up Popular Music at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her debut EP, Anybody Else?, came out in April 2026, and it pairs groove-led arrangements with candid lyrics. She's played Upstairs at Ronnie Scott's and Pizza Express Live, and she appeared at Truck Festival 2025.
Opening for her is Jem Wax, a London-based independent artist and producer whose EP Annual Leave landed a Spotify editorial placement on Our Generation. The night is presented by Success Express as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
