Free panel with South Asian creatives Bharti Kher, Sophia Green and DJ Ritu on building careers in the creative industries, with a drop-in creative session.
V&A South Kensington is hosting a panel and conversation with South Asian creatives on Saturday 17 October, from 11:00 to 15:00. The session is called Insights from South Asian Creatives and it's being held in the Learning Centre on Floor 1, with the panel itself taking place in the Hochhauser Auditorium. It's a free event, so you can just turn up.
The panel brings together three people from very different corners of the creative world. Bharti Kher is a British Indian multi-disciplinary artist whose sculptures look at the body, womanhood, mythology and cultural identity; she's got work on show at the V&A right now. Sophia Green is the founder and editor-in-chief of DominAsian Magazine, a UK independent publication that's grown since its 2023 launch into a leading voice in British South Asian media. And DJ Ritu MBE is a pioneer of the Asian Underground and Bhangra scenes, with a 37-year career that includes two decades at the BBC and co-founding the 90s label Outcaste Records. Together they'll be talking about how to build resilient and meaningful careers in the creative industries.
It's not just the panel, either. There's a 'Create and Take' drop-in session run by Mush Studio, and the whole thing is designed as a welcoming space for young people of all backgrounds to connect, spark ideas and open up conversations about creative futures. The organisers have a particular focus on those aged 16-26, and the session was curated by a collective of the V&A's own youth producers.

If you're working in the arts or just starting out, it's a good chance to hear from people who've carved out their own paths across sculpture, publishing and music. The panel is at the V&A South Kensington on Cromwell Road, SW7 2RL, on Saturday 17 October from 11:00 to 15:00, and it's free to attend.
