Victorian-themed, gin-fuelled cocktail treasure hunt through Soho, guided by Mr Fogg, for over-21s.
Mr Fogg's Treasure Hunt runs every Saturday and Sunday at Mr Fogg's Pawnbrokers in Soho, with starts at 2pm and 3pm. It's a gin-fuelled, Victorian-themed cocktail adventure that puts you in the shoes of Phileas J. Fogg for an 'Around Soho in 80 Minutes' hunt, guided by Mr Fogg himself as you work your way through a series of cryptic conundrums.
Things kick off inside the Pawnbrokers with an Aberfeldy or a St. Germain Spritz to get you going. From there, teams of up to six set off into the streets of Soho, working from Dean Street through to Frith Street via Old Compton, guided by clue cards and a phone with cellular data. You'll be cracking codes and solving riddles as you go, with the whole thing designed to take about an hour and a half. The finish is back at the venue, where a Bombay Sapphire cocktail waits as a reward, and the team that comes out with the most points wins a £75 Mr Fogg's bar tab.
The setting is a good part of the draw. Mr Fogg's Pawnbrokers is a late-night Victorian pawn-shop cocktail bar tucked behind an unassuming frontage on Dean Street, run by Frank Fogg, the wayward half-brother of Phileas. It's the kind of place that feels like a secret until you step inside, and it's where you start and end the hunt. The whole thing runs rain or shine, so it's as much a winter afternoon thing as a summer one, and it's for over-21s only.
