360-degree immersive video projection show that turns Westminster Cathedral into a concert, with a live score by the Lux Aeterna choir and narration by Hugh Bonneville.
Luminiscence is taking over Westminster Cathedral from 1 October 2026 to 30 January 2027, with 64 dates running across the winter. It's a 360° video projection concert that turns the cathedral's interior into a screen, with projections that light up the domes according to their original architectural vision. The show tells the story of the city and the cathedral, and the music comes from the Lux Aeterna choir, who perform live throughout. On selected Orchestra Nights, they're joined by a 14-piece orchestra.
There's a narrative running through it too: Hugh Bonneville provides the narration, with a script by Tim Whitnall. The whole thing lasts 50 minutes. It arrives in London after playing to more than two million people worldwide and a UK debut in Manchester.
The venue is a big part of the experience. Westminster Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church with room for 2,000 people, the largest in England, known for its Neo-Byzantine architecture, red-and-white brickwork and grand domes. Its vast interior is built for classical and choral music, so it's a natural fit for a live choir.
