Concert production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, with Jamie Muscato as the Phantom and Celinde Schoenmaker as Christine, for the 40th anniversary of Phantom.
Love Never Dies is playing the London Palladium on Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, as part of the official celebrations for the 40th anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera. It's a concert production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel, which picks up ten years after the Phantom vanished from the Paris Opera House. He's built a new life in New York, where his music can finally soar, but he's still haunted by Christine Daaé's absence. Determined to bring her back, he lures Christine, her husband Raoul and their young son Gustave to America with an invitation to perform one final time, reopening old wounds and bringing long-buried secrets to the surface.
This version is a concert production, so you'll get Lloyd Webber's score without an interval. The cast features Jamie Muscato as the Phantom, Celinde Schoenmaker as Christine Daaé, George Blagden as Raoul, Courtney Stapleton as Meg Giry and Mazz Murray as Madame Giry, with direction by Shaun Kerrison. It's a different beast from the 2010 West End run at the Adelphi Theatre, which had a rough time with critics and audiences and closed for four days to 'retool'.
