Over-18s night of jazz, soul, funk and blues with saxophonist Leo Green and his band, The Leo Green Experience.
Leo Green brings his Secret Sax Party to One Ninetyfour on Piccadilly, with two dates to choose from: Friday 23 October and Friday 6 November. He's producing the whole thing himself, and it's built around him leading The Leo Green Experience, a band of UK musicians and singers. The set draws from soul, funk, blues and rock 'n' roll, with the repertoire pulling from the best-loved songs of the last 30 years, all given a jazzy, bluesy, funky and soulful twist.
Green's played alongside some big names — Jack Savoretti, Paul McCartney, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jeff Beck and Van Morrison — and he's brought in a powerhouse band for this one, too. The musicians and vocalists on stage have worked with the likes of Rita Ora, Raye, Robbie Williams, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Lionel Richie, so there's a fair bit of session experience behind the sound. He describes the show as a high-energy celebration that spans genres and generations, and the bill calls it 'London's Greatest Night Out'.
