St. Lucian Creole celebration with live music, Creole food, traditional dances, storytelling and a children's Creole day.
Jounen Kweyol 2026 comes to Ilford Sports Club on Saturday 24 October, running from 12:00 until 11:30 pm. It's the return of the organiser's St. Lucian Creole celebration, a full day of Caribbean culture in East London. The whole thing is presented by Shyboy 5 Star Productions.
It's built around the music and flavours of St. Lucia, with live performances and authentic Creole dishes on sale throughout the day. Beyond the music, there are traditional dances and storytelling, so it's as much about the island's heritage as it is about the party. The day is split into two halves: there's a dedicated children's Creole day from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, and then the main celebration carries on well into the night.
If you're bringing the family, the early session is the one to aim for. The children's part of the day runs from midday until 3:00 pm, and kids under 16 get in free, provided the adults they're with pay the normal price. After that, the music and dancing keep going until 11:30 pm, so you can either drop in for the afternoon or stay on for the evening.
