Over-18s Frank Sinatra tribute show pairing the voices of Ol' Blue Eyes and Satchmo with hits like 'Fly Me to the Moon' and 'My Way'.
A Frank Sinatra tribute returns to the Phoenix Arts Club on Friday 12 November, with two performances at 6:15pm and 8:15pm. The club is tucked beneath the Phoenix Theatre in Soho, and it won Best Live Entertainment Pub of the Year at the 2018 Great British Pub Awards.
The show starts with a real-life connection: the Savoy Hotel was Sinatra's London home-from-home, and he could often be found taking a dry martini at the American Bar, served by the bartender Joe Gilmore, who summoned it with the refrain 'Set 'em up, Joe.' During his Savoy stays, Sinatra repeatedly dedicated One for My Baby (And One More for the Road) to Gilmore at his London concerts. The Jazz Room takes things back to the golden age of jazz and crooners, pairing the voices of Ol' Blue Eyes and Satchmo with hits like Fly Me to the Moon, What a Wonderful World, My Way and When You're Smiling.
