Live concert by Hackney-born vocalist and DJ Eliza Rose, known for her UK soundsystem sets and the platinum single 'B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)'.
Eliza Rose plays EartH in Hackney on Friday 20 November, starting at 7:30pm. It's a homecoming of sorts: Rose was born in Hackney, and this is one of the London dates on her UK tour.
If you recognise the name but can't quite place it, you've likely heard B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All). It went platinum worldwide and hit number one, making her the first female DJ to top the official charts in twenty years. Since then, she's picked up a MOBO for Best Dance/Electronic Act and a Brit nomination for Best Dance Act and Song Of The Year. She's played Coachella, Glastonbury and Manchester's Warehouse Project, so she's well used to the bigger stages.
Her background is as much about the record shop as the dancefloor. She spent a decade at Flashback, and she describes herself as a vinyl collector who blends UK soundsystem music with soulful lyricism. That comes through in the range she works with: house, garage, jungle, broken beat and warehouse sounds. She runs her own label, Rosebud Records, and hosts radio shows on Vinyl Factory, and she's collaborated with the likes of Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Sega Bodega, M4A4 and Cody Currie.
