Over-18s Friday night of vinyl house, disco, funk, jazz, soul and hip-hop by Istanbul selector DJ STYLE-IST at Moonrays.
DJ STYLE-IST brings his Istanbul-to-Soho session to Moonrays on Friday 30 October, one of three Friday nights he's playing in London. He's a selector from Istanbul, a former music director and resident DJ at the legendary Babylon, with nearly 30 years behind the decks and a reputation for unpredictable sets. He's playing vinyl, and the music moves across house, disco, funk, jazz, soul and hip-hop, so it's a broad sweep rather than sticking to one corner of the dancefloor.
That's the core of it: a vinyl-heavy, genre-blending set that doesn't stay in one place. If you're into house and disco, you'll find that, but the funk, jazz, soul and hip-hop mean it'll shift gear as the night goes on. It's a versatile way of DJing that keeps things moving across a few different sounds rather than leaning on a single style.

Moonrays is presenting the night, and it's for over-18s only. The session starts at 9:00 pm, with doors opening at 8:00 pm, so there's an hour to get in and settle before the music kicks off. It's at Moonrays, 7 Denmark Street, London Borough of Camden, London, WC2H 8LZ, and entry is free.
