Free in-person meetup for data and AI professionals with three talks on data quality, local AI and enterprise AI, followed by networking.
Data & AI London are back with their eighteenth meetup on Wednesday 25 November, at 100 Liverpool Street in the City. It's an in-person night that brings together data scientists, engineers, analysts and product owners to hear how data and AI are solving real-life challenges, with talks and networking covering data science, analytics and BI, AI and MLOps. It's aimed at data practitioners, AI/ML professionals, database specialists, developers, technical leaders and founders, and there's no specific experience level or technical prerequisite you need to get anything out of it.
Three talks make up the bill. Chris Young opens with 'Stop Talking About Data Quality: What Really Matters About Your Data in the Age of AI', which shifts the focus from the usual data quality talking points to what actually moves the needle when you're working with AI. Alistair Heath follows with 'Demystifying Local AI: How to Run LLMs on Your Own Hardware', a practical look at getting large language models running on your own machine rather than relying on a cloud provider. Matt Phillips rounds things off with 'Raise the Enterprise Ceiling', which looks at scaling these tools and processes within a larger organisation.
The whole thing is sponsored by Indicium AI, and they keep it strictly about the work: recruiters, vendors and sales pitches are explicitly excluded, so you won't be spending your evening dodging a pitch. It's an intentionally informal setup, with pizza and refreshments on arrival and hundreds of people around to chat with between the talks. If you're working in data or AI, it's a good spot to see what other people are actually building and to meet a fair few people doing similar work across the city.

Doors open at 6:00pm, with the talks starting around 6:30pm and wrapping up by 8:00pm. Entry is free, but seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so it's worth getting there early if you want a seat.
