A candlelit concert with a string quartet playing Leonard Cohen's greatest hits in Central Hall Westminster.
Candlelight is bringing a tribute to Leonard Cohen to Central Hall Westminster on Saturday 25 October, with a string quartet playing through his greatest hits. It's part of their wider series, which takes classical music and reimagines it for a wider audience — everything from Vivaldi to contemporary hits, performed by local musicians in historic venues lit by thousands of flameless LED candles. This one focuses on Cohen, so you'll hear his songs stripped back and played on strings.
Each concert runs for about an hour, and the doors open 30 to 45 minutes before the start, so there's plenty of time to get settled before the music begins. It's worth knowing that these aren't religious events, and there's an age limit: you'll need to be at least 8 to come along, and anyone aged 8 to 16 has to be accompanied by an adult. The series is a big operation, running in more than 150 cities worldwide, and if you're a Secret Club member, you can unlock a 2-for-1 ticket offer.
