Annual festive carol concert by the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, with the Collegium Musicum of London Chamber Choir and the home's rescue dogs paraded down the aisle.
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home are back with their annual Christmas carols at St Luke's & Christ Church on Sydney Street in Chelsea, with three dates to choose from: Thursday 3 December, Friday 4 December and Friday 11 December 2026. It's a sell-out every year, so if you're planning on it, you'll want to get your tickets sorted early.
The format is the same one that's made it a London festive fixture: nostalgic carol singing paired with the home's rescue dogs paraded down the aisle. When they come past, snuggles and chin scratches are encouraged. Only the rescue animals brought in by charity staff are allowed as furry attendees, so you'll need to leave your own dog at home.
The setting does a lot of the heavy lifting here. St Luke's and Christ Church has stood for more than two centuries, with soaring vaulted ceilings, gothic carvings and a large stained-glass window. At Christmas it's dressed with several trees and wreaths, and mince pies and mulled wine are served. The music comes from the Collegium Musicum of London Chamber Choir, with special guests joining them on the programme. It's a fundraiser for the home, so the whole thing goes back to the rescue animals.
