Clubnight of underground UKG, Jungle/DnB, Rave and Ghettohouse with Dusty Ohms, Sooski and others, with all profits going to local projects.
Alteration and AAJA are teaming up for a night at Aaja Basement on Friday 23 October, from 6pm until midnight. It's a clubnight that pulls from a few different underground corners: UKG, Jungle, DnB, Rave, Juke and Ghettohouse. If you're not sure where that puts it, it's the kind of bill that doesn't stick to one BPM, so you'll hear the faster, breakbeat-heavy stuff alongside the heavier bass and house sounds.
The line-up is a long one. Dusty Ohms comes from Loop Sessions London, and Sooski is with Ninja Tune. Yourboy Kiran is Bubblin UK and Daytimers, while Sohotsospicy and Craic David are playing back-to-back for Afterwerks. Frequency86 represents International Chrome, and GS_projekt.jpn is coming over from Japan. With six slots to fill over six hours, there's plenty of room for each set to breathe rather than everyone rushing through.
There's a bit of history to the night, too. Alteration ran six editions in Amsterdam before moving over to Aaja Music here in London. And it's not just about the music: all profits go to local projects through the Humaniti foundation, which is how the earlier editions worked. The artwork for the night is by Marnie Hamilton.
