DJ set by Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip launching the Altar Lates club nights at the new Leytonstone venue Altar.
Alexis Taylor is playing a DJ set at Altar on Friday 6 November, starting at 10:30 PM. It's a late one, and it's part of the venue's new club series, Altar Lates.
If you haven't come across it yet, Altar is a new neighbourhood music venue, bar and record shop on Church Lane in Leytonstone, East London. It opened on 23 October with a free launch party, and it's set up as two distinct spaces. The ground floor is a listening bar with records chosen by Dreamhouse Records and curated playlists. The basement is where the live music, club nights and talks happen, built around the venue's own heavy soundsystem with a capacity of 100. The programming is handled by Jon Clifford of Dreamhouse Records, Toby L of Transgressive Records and Simon Singleton of the Shake The High Road festival, and the opening-night set from Simian Mobile Disco set the tone for what they're doing here.
Taylor is known as the voice of Hot Chip, and this is a DJ set rather than a live performance. It's one of the early nights in the Altar Lates series, the venue's late-night club run. The night is strictly 18+.
