Zap Graffiti Art class

ZAP GRAFFITI are running a graffiti art workshop at ZAP GRAFFITI At RESURRECTION on Saturday 17 October, from 11:00 to 13:00. It's a two-hour session, and the whole thing is run by ZAP GRAFFITI, which they describe as Liverpool's unique graffiti art-focused venue.

Over the course of the two hours, you work as part of a team to pick up the basic skills and techniques of a professional graffiti artist. It's not just watching someone else do it; you're getting stuck in yourself. Once you've got the basics down, you'll use them to create your own 3x3ft poster, which you get to take home when you're finished. The size is worth noting — a three-foot square is a decent bit of wall space, so you'll leave with something substantial rather than a small sketch.

One of the better things about these classes is who they're for. They're open to all ages above six, and the sessions often end up as a mix of children and adults working side by side. It's the kind of thing that works just as well as a family outing as it does as a solo morning out, and you don't need any prior experience to join in.

Practical details: the workshop runs from 11:00 to 13:00 at ZAP GRAFFITI At RESURRECTION, on the first floor of 27-29 Bold Street, L1 4DN. Tickets start from £23.50, and that includes all the materials you'll need for the session.
