Stand-up show by the comedy duo Wankernomics, a Q&A-style satire of corporate workplace bullsh*ttery, after sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Wankernomics are playing the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Sunday 8 November, their latest stop in the city. The show is a stand-up set by the comedy duo of the same name, and this version is billed as Wankernomics V4.1.
They describe it as a Q&A-style, thought-leadership deep dive into the ways corporate bullsh*ttery is taking over the working world and our lives. It's a look at the things that make a modern office feel like a fever dream: pointless meetings, mission statements, and 'synergies'. They also take aim at the digital friction of everyday life—the need to set up an account, download an app, and answer a survey just to buy a pair of socks. It's observational comedy mixed with dark satire, and it's all built around the specific, exhausting language of the corporate world.
The act started as a live show that helped thousands of gormless Australians unlock the secrets to workplace success through the ancient art of being an annoying wanker. Since then, it's expanded into what the duo call a holistic, integrated, digital-first, multi-platform strategy, including social media and a website. They've had two sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, over 50 million views online, and a Sunday Times best-selling book, Wankernomics: A Deep Dive into Workplace Bullshttery*, which you can add on when booking tickets. Critics have called the show 'exquisite', 'meticulously written' and 'the most original show we saw this year'.
