Restorative morning of slow-flow yoga, guided journaling and sound healing to help reset for winter, with no prior experience needed.
Unwind: Winter Reset Experience runs at Monks Cottage Sanctuary on Saturday 28 November, starting at 09:50. It's a morning of yoga, journaling and sound healing, framed as a way to shake off the summer and ground yourself as winter takes over. The idea is to move through the senses — movement, reflection and stillness — to settle both mind and body.
The morning starts with gentle slow-flow yoga, followed by guided journaling, and then a sound bath. A sound bath is exactly what it sounds like: you lie on a mat or cushion and let waves of soothing music and vibrations from bowls, gongs or tuning forks wash over you. The whole thing is rounded off with healthy refreshments.
Two people lead the session. Sarah Toal is a 250-hour Asthanga Vinyasa yoga instructor, and Ashley Spencer is a certified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Coach, Wellbeing and Sound Practitioner. They keep the numbers small to keep the atmosphere calm and intimate, and you don't need any prior experience with yoga, meditation or sound healing to join in — everything is gently guided.
