PurpleDoor revives its 2014 'Twelfth Night On Tour', Shakespeare's play reimagined in 90s rave culture, performed with Hamlet as a double bill.
PurpleDoor are bringing Twelfth Night to Make North Docks on Thursday 10 December, as part of a double bill that pairs it with Hamlet. It's a revival of their 2014 production, Twelfth Night On Tour, which reimagines Shakespeare's comedy deep in 90s rave culture — a world they describe as having fallen in love far too much with its own imagination.
The original run toured the UK and Ireland in 2014 and 2015 and sold out along the way. This version comes back with a completely new cast, performed alongside Hamlet as part of the company's 18th birthday celebrations. Reviews of the first production called it 'full of heart and humour' and 'an absolute delight', with 'masterful' directing that 'showcases the genius of Shakespeare'.
