Frank Zappa cover band Treacherous Cretins play 'Zappa at Halloween!' at The Cavern Club on Mathew Street.
Treacherous Cretins are playing The Cavern Club on Monday 26 October, a few days before Halloween. It's a Frank Zappa night, and they've titled this one Zappa at Halloween!.
If you're not familiar with them, Treacherous Cretins are a UK band formed in 2018 with a specific mission: to cover a broad spectrum of Zappa's music and open it up to new fans. Zappa was a musical iconoclast, known for material that's notoriously hard to play, for lyrics that are humorous and satirical, and for fusing wildly different styles. The band leans into that spirit here, threading the scariest, spine-chilling songs from Zappa's catalogue through their own interpretations of the audience's favourite classics, played with fearless musicianship and dark humour on Mathew Street.
They've got a proper connection to the Zappa family tree, too. Over the years, the members have played and collaborated with Robert 'Bobby' Martin, Dweezil Zappa, Ike Willis, Ray White, Denny Walley, Craig 'Twister' Steward, and Candy Zappa. That's a fair bit of the inner circle, and it's that same fearless approach they bring to the stage.

It's a single-band bill, so the whole night is dedicated to Zappa. The show starts at 7:30pm at The Cavern Club, 10 Mathew Street, Liverpool, L2 6RE, and tickets are £18 in advance.
