A networking event for Trans creatives featuring commissioned work from seven local artists, part of the Homotopia Festival 2026.
Transformations comes to Unity Theatre on Friday 20 November, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. It's a sharing and networking event that brings together seven Trans artists to show what they've been working on, and it's an invite exclusively for Trans creatives and arts and cultural organisations. The idea is to give local organisations a space to meet and hear about the work of Trans artists with a connection to Merseyside.
The seven artists presenting are AJ, a photographer; Chrissie Beckett, also a photographer; Iesha Palmer, who works as a DJ, musician and film maker; Jen Morgan / Jensyn, a musician; Joey Colasante, a director; Matthew Hare, an illustrator and graphic designer; and Rhi Belle, a performer. The session comes out of a Trans Artist Network of 63 creatives built over the past year by 20 Stories High with Felix Mufti. Alongside six other organisations, they offered commissions to seven of those artists, and that's the work being presented here.
Those partners include DaDaFest, Everyman & Playhouse, FACT, Future Yard, Open Eye Gallery, Protect Scouse Dolls and Unity Theatre. The afternoon sits within Homotopia Festival 2026, We Come Together, which runs from 17 October to 1 December. Homotopia is the UK's longest-running LGBTQIA+ arts and culture festival, championing queer artists across Liverpool since 2004. This edition is the first for executive director Jayne Compton, who frames it as an invitation to transformative art, remembering histories while imagining new futures.
